As an Ironman wannabe (and a relative newcomer to Triathlon) it's nice to hear first-hand stories about the consequences of not paying proper attention to your body in race conditions.

Keep the education coming!Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09492479140641878920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28594603.post-77524359437764785542008-10-20T15:12:00.000-04:002008-10-20T15:12:00.000-04:00It was really interesting to hear about things fro...It was really interesting to hear about things from the medical side of the equation. Hydration was spot on. I'm hoping to duplicate that at Florida on November 1st. This cold weather just has my drinking pattern so thrown off though. I was doing like 2 bottles an hour during warmer weather. Yesterday, I drank 2 in four hours and still peed like 5 times. Grrrr!!!

I second the motion!! Thanks for helping out!! And the scale I got on was actually giving low readings, which isn't a problem as long as they use the same one in the med tent.TJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02092311195934359639noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28594603.post-33402107320301822742008-10-20T01:59:00.000-04:002008-10-20T01:59:00.000-04:00At IMC this year one of the scales was weighing pe...At IMC this year one of the scales was weighing people about 10 pounds heavier than they actually were. For some reason the volunteers just kept using this scale. I asked them if I could use the second one they had "just to make sure", and it was accurate (I had actually brought my own scale for the hotel just to make sure I didn't go taper crazy so I knew scale #2 was right). Of course, all those people before me weighed in wrong - and I'm sure they just kept weighing people in on the wrong scale after me.
Hopefully this kind of goofiness gets sorted out for next year!Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12842566769864717610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28594603.post-702247519556558792008-10-20T00:01:00.000-04:002008-10-20T00:01:00.000-04:00great report. But I had just been weighed at the expo. I know someone who gained 13 lbs last year during Kona.
