Random Thoughts Easter Edition

1. You know the road conditions are bad when you pass a man during your 45 minute run.... on skis! yup, 2 feet of snow in 24 hours here in Cleveland. On April 8!Running through the snow was a lot of fun. Not quite as great as running in the rain, but a close second.

Here's an unhappy girl who can't wait for summer:

Bonus pic of my dad having fun helping walk the dogs last night. He also shoveled my driveway and sidewalks this morning before leaving for Wisconsin. What a guy!!!

2. Because the weather is so shitty, I thought it would be a good idea to take a short trip to a sunnier place

I'm Going to Arizona!

Yup, I'm going to be the official pstriathlon race photographer at Ironman Arizona on Sunday! I'm going to cheer on my friends Jonathan, Danny, Will, Miranda, and Sergio. Ok, well I've never met Sergio, but I feel like I have since I've heard so much about him. Can't wait to cheer on these wonderful people. I'm sure great races will be had all around :-)

3. I wasn't lying, really. It WAS a hilly course. For all you graph geeks, here is my bike course graph from the Garmin:

That's it for the day. It was a recovery week, so the training was very laid back. I'm eager to get right back into the meat of Ironman Training!

The snow here is awesome.
Have fun in AZ. Going to an IM as a spectator will be fun.
I am jealous.

2 feet of snow? I guess I'll have to stop complaining about the crappy spring weather
Belated congrats on your half...awesome.

So, that's what the graph of a "big green monster eating cyclists" looks like, huh? It's hard to train for such climbs in NE Ohio.

I look foreward to reading about the rest of your path to IM!!

And I agree w/ Charlie, the snow is awesome....but shaving off your beard just before the last snowstorm of the year is...not awesome.

When are you getting into Tempe? It will be great to have another friendly face cheering us on.

That's a lot of snow!
The graph is more impressive- those hills look creul to put toward the end of a race.

Cute beasties. We rarely see snow down here, but I love to see the way our furries deal with it. Have fun in the warmth of AZ. Send some of that warmth to the east coast, if you don't mind!

Have a great time in Arizona. I can't think of a more inspiring way to spend a day than watching an Ironman.

I'd imagine the silent atmosphere and crunch under the feet would make for a nice run...apparently the Indians don't think so, I heard the games were cancelled!

Holy smokes, that was a hilly course. Thanks for posting the graph :)

I love running in the snow. I always think that the slipperiness of the snow on the road makes me a little more agile.

That is one heck of a crazy graph.

Hope you dad made it home OK!!!

YUCK!! I don't miss that snow for anything. Needless to say, you won't see any of that out here. Just bring your sunscreen and have a great time at the race!
